DC Young Fly was born on May 2, 1992, in Atlanta, GA, U.S.A. His parents got divorced when he was 14 years old.
He was the youngest of seven children. Young Fly attended Benjamin E. Mays High School in Atlanta, where he spent his childhood days.
He suffered a significant loss at an early age, as he lost his elder brother in 2011 and later lost his dad, who was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. He occasionally engaged in criminal activities and hung out in the streets.
However, he soon decided to focus on rapping to honour his late brother Richie. In his later years, he attended Armstrong State University.
