Daniel Benson, born 14 May 1997 in Lagos Nigeria, is professionally known as Bnxn (pronounced as Benson) and formerly as Buju, is an acclaimed Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, songwriter, and record producer.

Career and Establishment 

Bnxn, also known as Benson launched an EP called “Sorry I’m Late” on October 27, 2021. The EP was managed by T.Y.E/EMPIRE and featured a collaboration with Nigerian Highlife music duo, The Cavemen.

It was produced by Steph, Perlz, Denzl, Timi Jay, and Rexxie, and mixed and mastered by Vtek and Poppil. According to Motolani Alake from Pulse Nigeria, the EP showcased confidence, success, and a feeling of comfort.

On November 30, Buju had his first performance in London, kicking off his Sorry I’m Late tour. Later, on December 22, he headlined his inaugural sold-out concert in Lagos at the Balmoral Convection Centre.

In 2022, Buju decided to change his name officially to Bnxn to establish a more distinctive brand and avoid confusion with Buju Banton.

In March of that year, he collaborated with Pheelz on the single “Finesse,” which reached number 52 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart.

In July, Bnxn was featured on the track “Propeller” by Jae5, alongside British rapper Dave. This song became Bnxn’s first Top 40 single in the UK, entering the chart at number 38.

On September 4, 2022, Bnxn received the Next Rated award at The Headies 2022 ceremony held in Atlanta, Georgia, United States at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
