Career
Fast-rising talent, Black Sherif began his musical career as a dancer before switching to music in secondary school.
Black Sherif debuted his career in 2019 by uploading the song “Cry for Me” to YouTube. His debut song “Money” and a music video were both released on May 25, 2020.
His single “First Sermon” was released in May 2021, further extending his fan base. “Second Sermon,” the song’s follow-up, was released in July and featured Burna Boy, another African performer.

A case for alleged breach of contract was brought against Black Sherif on April 11, 2022, following the signing of a contract with Empire Shadrach Agyei Owusu, the CEO of Waynes Chavis Consult, who was requesting the court to prohibit Black Sherif from performing at events without his authorization. The musician sought an injunction from the Accra High Court’s Commercial Division to prevent him from performing any songs that were under his prior management, but it was denied.
